Mikel lives in the Basque Country, is unemployed, his girlfriend has left him for someone else, and he feels like his life and everything around him is a mess. In other words, he hates the Basque Country. That’s why he accepts a proposal from a distant cousin (the son of his grandfather’s sister who emigrated to Argentina), someone he’s only ever interacted with on Facebook, to move to Argentina and work at a business he’s starting.

However, when Mikel arrives in Argentina, he’s met with an unexpected surprise: he’s landed in a small Basque Country inhabited by Argentinians who have never set foot in their ancestral homeland but live it with passion and an idealized view. From the moment Mikel steps into the Euskal Etxea, he becomes a sort of “super Basque” in the eyes of the entire community.
